QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computers
  • Demonstrate aptitude to use AV, video and laminating equipment.
  • Familiar with or willing to become quickly comfortable with using a library media center.
  • Ability to take directions, accepts responsiblity, ask questions, and work positively with adults and children. 

 

REPORTS TO: Library Media Specialist and Principal

 

SUPERVISES: Student Assistants

 

JOB OVERVIEW: To assist the librarian in maintaining a clean, quiet,  learning environment for students to use computers, check out books and conduct research.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Prepare books, periodicals, and media for circulation.
  • Be able to type all orders, bibliography reports, and class materials needed by the Library Media Specialist.
  • Assist in inventory of all materials.
  • Assist in inventory of all library materials.
  • Prepare displays and bulletin boards.
  • Be open to learning any new skills that enhance the learning process provided by the Library Media Center.
  • Assist in delivering audiovisual equipment to classrooms, etc.
  • Comply with request of the Library Media Specialist that falls with generally accepted clerical responsibilities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days contract

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: School Library

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires speaking, hearing, standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting of no more than 30 pounds.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.

 

SALARY RANGE: In accordance with the EPS Support Negotiated Contract Scale.

 

BENEFITS: In accordance with the EPS Support Negotiated Contract.
