EHS Works Coordinator

This opening will be a full-time position, beginning with the 2018-19 year. Timesheet or extra-duty stipend work will be expected for March – July 2018. The posting will be open through March 5, and the successful candidate will be selected by March 15.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  2. Teaching certification from the Oklahoma Department of Education
  3. More than five years in education, preferred
  4. Talent for developing community partnerships; strong public relations skills
  5. Experience in the private sector a plus
  6. Alternatives to the above qualifications that may be acceptable to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education

 

REPORTS TO:     Enid High School Principal

 

SUPERVISES:    Student Interns

                   

JOB OVERVIEW:     The EHS Works coordinator serves as a liaison between Enid High School
and the business/organizations participating in the student internship program. The coordinator monitors the success of the program on a daily basis through interaction with students and internship mentors. In addition, the coordinator provides valuable instruction to students that promotes career exploration and preparation, including teaching professionalism, integrity and responsibility.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the implementation of the EHS Works program and serves as the program’s ambassador in the community.
  • Promotes the growth of the EHS Works program, including its many benefits, to students, parents, and local businesses.
  • Provides quality instruction for students that will prepare them for their internship experience and other leadership or career opportunities.
  • Identifies and coordinates community volunteers who can provide valuable information and first-hand experience to students during class time.
  • Grows and maintains partnerships with local internship sites.
  • Places students at appropriate internship sites, based on the interest and needs of all parties involved.
  • Develops, completes and maintains all documentation necessary for the successful function of the program, including agreement forms and timesheets
  • Properly inspects and monitors internship sites to ensure safe environment for students and addresses any concerns quickly and thoroughly.
  • Monitors intern hours and attendance on a daily basis.
  • Counsels, confers with, and communicates with parents, businesses and school and district personnel regarding student progress and program needs.
  • Assists business partners with plans of improvement for student interns, if their work performance requires it.
  • Maintains an effective learning environment, with a strong focus on classroom management, program quality and student engagement.
  • Performs a variety of non-instructional duties, including student supervision around the campus, as needed.
  • Completes all program reports and paperwork required by EPS or other governing agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to travel locally with valid driver’s license.
          

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   184-Day Contract – Certified – Exempt

 

EVALUATION:        In accordance with Board Policy and appropriate procedural regulations.  The Superintendent or designee will be responsible for completing the evaluation.

 

SALARY RANGE:    EPS Certified Teacher Salary Scale plus stipend, as approved annually by the Board of Education

 

BENEFITS:      This position includes fully funded teacher retirement and health insurance for the employee that may be waived for additional salary, if preferred.
