QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 5+ years of classroom experience;
  2. Advanced degree or coursework related to instruction;
  3. Deep knowledge of instructional practices;
  4. Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills;
  5. Interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration) to share research-based instructional approaches and provide advice, mentoring, and coaching to teachers and administrators; and
  6. Strong organizational skills.

JOB OVERVIEW:  The work of an Instructional Coach will project a positive, proactive, and professional approach to the schools in which he/she works.  The Instructional Coach will help support an environment with a focus on math, best-practice instruction, classroom management, and overall effective instruction. The coach will establish a rapport and maintain constructive interaction with teachers, teams, and administrators.

 

RESPONSIBILTIES

             Individual discussions (informal and formal)

             Coaching sessions

             Demonstration lessons with pre- and post-discussion/analysis

             Professional learning groups

             Staff meetings

             Well-planned professional development programs encouraging lifelong learning 

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 179-Day Contract –Exempt

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Sit or stand for long periods of time
  2. Speak, hear, see, stand and walk
  3. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead
  4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  5. Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment
  6. Travel between buildings, when needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:   Duties are primarily performed inside a classroom area;
however, supervision of students outside of the school may be required as well.

 

EVALUATION:      In accordance with Board Policy and appropriate procedural regulations.  The Superintendent or designee will be responsible for completing the evaluation.

 

SALARY RANGE:    179-day teacher contract in accordance with certified salary scale.

 

BENEFITS:            This position includes fully-funded health insurance for the employee that may be waived for additional salary, if preferred. Retirement is also paid.
