QUALIFICATIONS:           

 

  1. The qualified candidate must possess sharp attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines with quickly shifting priorities.
  2. Must be proficient to operate a wide range of A/V recording, editing and broadcasting programs and equipment.
  3. Must be willing to work late and irregular hours and be comfortable collaborating with high-level administrators, teachers and students.
  4. Demonstrated ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner.
  5. Valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required for travel between district school buildings.

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

 

 

REPORTS TO:                     Enid High School Principal, Director of Information and Instructional Technology and Athletic Director 

 

JOB GOALS:                        To teach students at EHS how to develop, create, and maintain live television and video productions.  Lead students in broadcasting EHS and District events. Operate audiovisual equipment in the Broadcast Studio and classroom including, but not limited to, television cameras, editing equipment, camera equipment, computer software programs, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  1. Demonstrated skills with video, film and media
  2. Should have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as similar editing and design programs.
  3. Demonstrated skills to manage the technology in the Studio for live video production.
  4. Ability to work with students on how to properly use the equipment of the program.
  5. Knowledge of current camera and audio equipment as well as editing programs.
  6. Experience as a successful project manager and ability to organize, prioritize and manage time.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills evidenced by the ability to work cooperatively and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students.
  8. Digital Animation and Graphic Design skills are a plus

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Teach EPS Vision, Advance Broadcasting, Media Studies and other classes assigned by EHS Principal.
  2. Work with students for the broadcast of student-produced video and engage students in the creation of Enid High and District-led programming, ie. Sporting Events, Major EHS Events, Major District Events, including out of town events and others as requested or assigned as available.
  3. To create HYPE videos for multiple sports and activities at EHS.
  4. Create broadcast using students as reporters and material for various media outlets
  5. Work with principals, teachers and parent organizations to recruit freelance video. In consultation with supervisor, screen supplied video for quality, broadcast appropriateness and edit for length and content.
  6. Assist as needed the Districts Media Production Specialist
    1. Responsible for the District's cable-access channel, YouTube, Facebook and streaming Live Feeds, Safari Montage and other avenues as a communication and promotional tool and for the creation and production of original programming for Enid High and the District.
    2. Providing video for the District's web site and other A/V presentations.
    3. Create original video programming to showcase students, convey District message and shape public image.
    4. Establish and maintain video archives.
    5. Oversee live broadcast of regular Enid Board of Education meetings, tape major District events. Convert bulletins and short announcements and other communications into on-air text messages.
    6. Other duties as may be delegated from time to time by the supervisor and the supervisor may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities outlined above.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Eleven-month basis (215 Days). Certified teacher contract days of 179 plus 36 additional days (outside of the 179, 8-hour days) plus  stipend (the stipend is for evening and weekend work). Salary and working calendar to be approved by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:

            Performance of this job will be evaluated according to district policy.

 

SALARY:

            Certified Teacher pay scale plus 36 additional days
